Above The Law - Idiom

Meaning:

If someone is above the law, they are not subject to the law of society.

For Example:

1. Just because his father is rich and powerful man, he seems to think he's above the law and he can do whatever he likes.

2. In a democracy, no-one is above the law - not even a president or prime-minister.

3. James seemed to think he was above the law, so he was shocked when he was arrested for selling drugs.
