Kinds of Noun:


1. Common Nouns:

Common nouns are:

a. Names of People (ex. man, woman, girl, boy, kid, child.,)

b. Names of Things (ex. books, table, chair, glass.,)

c. Names of Animals (ex. monkey, cat, dog, tiger, lion .,)

d. Names of Places (ex. church, temple, town, city, country, village .,)


Common noun begins with a small letter.

Common nouns are countable.


2. Proper Nouns:


Proper nouns are:

a. Special Names of People (ex: George Bush, Indira Gandhi, Rakesh, Ranjan .,)

b. Special Names of Things (ex: Financial Times, Eenadu, Titan .,)

c. Special Names of Animals (ex: King Kong, Puppy .,)

d. Special Names of Places (ex: Paris, Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada .,)


A proper noun begins with a capital letter.


3. Abstract Noun:


An abstract noun is the name of something that we can think of or feel but cannot see, taste, touch, hear or smell.

Ex:

Friendship, love, hate, affection, beauty, pleasure, revenge, communication, thoughtful, fairness, annoyance, skill, loyalty, creativity, freedom, courage, nature, loneliness, wisdom, honesty etc.,
